Dick Norton, N6AA, Will Be September’s Guest Speaker

September’s Guest Speaker ARRL Southwestern Division Director Dick Norton, N6AA, will speak on the ARRL and current happenings in Amateur Radio

Dick Norton, N6AA, was first licensed in 1955 as KN2PHF. Initially active in traffic nets and DXing, he is mostly active today on-the-air
in contests.

Operating in CQ WW DX Contests from all of the 40 zones has given him an opportunity to see the world and meet with amateurs from all corners of the globe.

Dick is currently ARRL Southwestern Division Director as well as president of the Southern California Contest Club. He has spoken frequently at Dayton, Visalia, and other conventions.

Joe Ayers, AE6XE, April guest speaker

Joe Ayers, AE6XE, will be our April guest speaker on the topic of Mesh Networks.

Joe has been a ham since 1974 starting with WB0TWC, N5OVO, AD6VD, then AE6XE.

Professionally Joe has worked in product development for over 30 years, starting out at Texas Instruments in the 1980s and now works for Schnieder Electric in the Industrial Automation R&D group creating control systems to automate industrial facilities, including oil refineries, nuclear, and coal power plants.

March Guest Speaker……Bob Grubic, NC6Q

Bob Grubic, NC6Q, will be our March presenter with his Vacation DXpedition in Panama presentation.

Bob has been licensed for over 40 years, and holds an Amateur Extra Class license. Though inactive for many years raising a family, he’s been very active the last 15 years. He has served in many Ham Radio positions.

Dave Glawson, WA6CGR, is the October Guest Speaker

Dave Glawson, WA6CGR, will present a talk on various topics for the October meeting and will be bringing test gear that will allow “deviation” testing on HTs. So if you want your HT evaluated be sure to bring it along.

FM – Our most used mode.

For our October meeting Dave Glawson, WA6CGR will present an overview of FM and its advantages and pitfalls. He will bring along a highly accurate frequency counter from “The Lab”, so bring along your HT and check its accuracy.

Radky Khlok, KJ6DKX, is the new Emergency Manager for the City of Downey. She has a master’s degree in Public Administration and Policy from the California State University- Long Beach and has been in the field of emergency management for more than 7 years.
